A retail PC builder offers 5 preconfigured builds, each with different CPU, RAM and storage combinations. Each build is a JIT product with a BOM referencing component SKUs. When a build order comes in, the BOM deducts 1× CPU, 2× 16GB RAM sticks and 1× 1TB SSD from component stock. The build is queued for assembly. No finished-goods inventory needed.
A 'Summer Hamper' contains 3 specific products: olive oil, crackers, and a condiment set. The BOM deducts 1 of each on every hamper order. If the condiment set runs out, the hamper automatically shows as out-of-stock — preventing orders the business can't fulfil.
