Go to Dashboard → Shipping & pickup and add each physical branch (name, address, optional latitude/longitude for accurate distance sorting)
Click Manage stock next to a branch to set on-hand quantity per product — products left unset fall back to your store-wide stock count
Once a second branch is added, checkout automatically shows the postcode finder and per-branch stock badges
If a branch runs short after an order lands, open the order and use Report a stock shortage to re-route, backorder or refund the affected item

In practice
A tradie searching for a specific fastener types their postcode at checkout and is shown their nearest branch first, with a live '12 in stock' badge. If that branch sells out before the order is picked, staff re-route it to the next-closest branch with one click — the customer gets an email, picks 'Yes, that branch works', and the order updates itself.
The first branch is included free. Opening a second showroom across town adds a $49/mo line to the existing store subscription — no new contract, no separate storefront to manage. Stock for the showroom floor is tracked separately from the warehouse location.
Pro tips
Set latitude/longitude on each branch for real distance-based sorting — without it, the finder still works via exact postcode match, just less precisely for shoppers just outside your delivery area.
Only configure per-location stock for products that genuinely differ by branch — anything left unset simply uses your existing store-wide count, so there's no need to migrate your whole catalogue on day one.
