Three SMS events: (1) Order confirmed — 'Your HelloBox order is confirmed! Delivery expected Thursday 10–12pm.' (2) Dispatched — 'Your box is on its way! Track here: [link].' (3) Delivered — 'Your box has been delivered. Enjoy!'. Each SMS has a 95%+ open rate within 3 minutes of sending.
Pro tips
Keep SMS copy short and specific — 'Your order #4821 has shipped. Tracking: [link]' is better than a marketing message in a transactional SMS.
Only send transactional events, not promotional offers via SMS — opt-out rates spike when customers feel their order confirmation number is being used for marketing.
Test delivery to your own phone before going live — verify the sender name, content formatting and link behaviour on both iOS and Android.
